Finding the perfect pink vase

All winter long, I’ve been slowly updating our master bedroom—a process that has taken time because, well, life with young kids and a packed schedule makes everything move at a slower pace. But progress is happening! The ceiling now boasts a fresh coat of paint, meaning we no longer have to look at the mismatched patches of white from years of touch-ups. The walls are nearly done, though covering the old grey shade took an exhausting three to four coats of paint, and there are still a few final spots to touch up. The baseboards and trim are almost finished too, with just a couple of areas left that need additional trim and paint. And once the weather warms up, I plan to remove the baseboard heating covers and refresh them with a fresh coat of paint to seamlessly match the walls and trim.

While the big projects are in progress, I’ve been having fun with the smaller details—specifically, the design vision. I’ve become completely obsessed with mood boards, making them for everything from the overall aesthetic of the room to individual furniture pieces and decorative accents. Since both Daniel and I prefer a clutter-free space, every item that comes into our home is chosen with intention and purpose. I want the master bedroom to feel calm and inviting, so I’m sticking to a color palette of warm whites and neutrals. However, I can’t resist adding some personality with pops of color, and that’s where my latest obsession comes in—pink vases!

A pink vase on one of the nightstands feels like the perfect way to introduce a subtle yet vibrant touch to the space. There’s something about pink that feels fresh, sophisticated, and warm, making it an ideal accent color against the neutral backdrop of the bedroom. I’ve spent hours curating a mood board filled with different shades and styles of pink vases—everything from delicate blush to bold, deep rose glass designs. Each one brings a unique character, whether through its shape, texture, or tone.

The hunt for the perfect pink vase has taken me on a journey through second-hand stores, vintage markets, and Facebook Marketplace. I love the thrill of finding something unique and unexpected, something with history and charm. So far, I haven’t found “the one” yet, but I know it’s out there! I’m drawn to pieces that feel modern yet timeless—something that will complement fresh flowers beautifully but still look elegant on its own when empty.

Beyond just aesthetics, a pink vase is a simple yet effective way to switch up decor for different seasons. In spring, it can hold fresh tulips or peonies; in summer, it might display dried flowers for a more rustic look. In fall and winter, it can serve as a sculptural element, bringing warmth to the space.

So the search continues, but that’s part of the fun! I love the process of carefully curating pieces that make our home feel like “us.” Have you ever had a specific decor item in mind that you just couldn’t settle on until you found the absolute perfect one? Let me know—I’d love to hear your favorite home decor finds!
